Today, Nokia has announced the launch of the Nokia Music Store in Spain. Already boasting a catalog of more than 4 million songs, amongst which users can find all the best selling records, independent labels and national talents, Nokia will provide Spanish consumers with music of all types and for all tastes directly onto their mobiles or PCs. This will be accomplished using a combination of downloads and streaming services.

Nokia Music Store has a catalog focused on the local market, thus keeping in touch with the consumers, especially given the fact that more than 70% of the music sold in Spain is local. In order to do this, the company has a team in each country, thus getting to know precisely which are the musical preferences in each region.

Spanish users will already find in the database artists like Oreja de Van Gogh, Pereza, Melendi, Amaral, Deluxe, Krakovia, Coti, Ismael Serrano, Extromoduro and Miguel Bosé. Nokia has signed agreements with Universal Music, Warner Music (and others), with aggregators like The Orchard, and also with local record labels like the well-known Blanco y Negro, Subterfuge and Pias, all this in order to offer a broad range of genres and artists.

Users will be able to access the Nokia Music Store either from the PC or from their mobile phones. Once there, they will be able to either buy tracks for the cost of 1.50 Euros each, or to listen to all the music they want for a monthly fee. This fee is set at 10 Euros, according to the press release available on Nokia's website. Another aspect that Spanish users must bear in mind is that all the songs will be paid by credit card.

"We are aiming to satisfy the needs of users with a simple service that is easily accessible, offering the most comprehensive catalogue of artists, thought of by and for Spanish enthusiasts," said Head of Services and Software at Nokia Spain, Manuel Reverte.
