Until now, users could only get the new N96 from O2 and Orange by signing a contract. Fortunately, this is not the case anymore. Users can now simply buy the SIM-free N96, which is unlocked to all UK networks, and just insert their SIM card in it.

The recently launched N96 is a phone that's optimized for digital entertainment. You have a DVB-H TV broadcast receiver so you can watch all your favorite shows wherever you are. However, if you don't like to watch TV, you can play videos or movies using the Windows Media Video. Also, you can listen to music either by using the built-in FM radio, or by playing the MP3s you saved on the huge 16GB internal memory or on a microSD card (up to 8GB).

And there’s more: say you want to take a trip, in which case the built-in GPS will come in handy. Of course, as no journey would be complete without taking some photos and recording videos, both become easy thanks to the 5 megapixel video-camera with flash and autofocus. All this will be viewed extremely clearly on the 2.8-inch display that has up to 16M colors.

It seems that Nokia's N96 really has it all: from office functions to Internet browsing and digital entertainment, everything about this phone is high-end. Now that it is on the market and widely available since it is being offered unlocked, all that Nokia fans should know is the price they have to pay for this little gem. Pricing for N96 goes somewhere between 530 and 630 pounds, according to most online retailers. While it can’t be qualified as cheap, for a phone that is packed with all you need to keep yourself entertained, it's well worth every penny, wouldn’t you say?
