Today in one fast food outlet, tomorrow everywhere

Cellular charging stations are no longer an innovative concept, but a rather naturally developed solution coming from the needs of handset users. Nokia has started putting such free devices in several strategic locations, an idea that might prove to be highly useful.

A Burger King fast food in the Philippines has posted such a charging station for their customers to use. While having a meal and staying at a fast food table, they could also wait for their handset's battery to recharge. Similar devices have been seen in airports until now, as having to pay a large number of calls while waiting for your plane to arrive could quickly drain all life out of your phone's battery.

Nokia has seen the advantage that such charging stations can bring for mobile phone users and posted some of its own. Not only do they have one more opportunity of posting their company's logo and adding the free service concept to it, but handset users might really appreciate the idea.

A solution for easily recharging your phone while away from home is always welcome. Even more, few people carry their handset's charger everywhere they go, so it's very unlikely that an alternative to these charging stations could be at hand.

This specific Nokia charging station has been posted at a Wendy's fast food outlet. More of these should come in the future, as they can be profitable both for the handset producer and the stores that host them. Knowing that there is only such a device at a specific spot in town, the chances of choosing it over other fast food outlets are much higher.

Nokia is the handset producer that needs the highest number of different charger types, so a charging station only for this brand has several cords to use, depending on the phone model.
