Wireless carrier T-Mobile USA has no plans for the addition of HTC Hero to its offering, at least this is what the company stated recently when announcing the availability of its second Android device, the myTouch 3G (aka HTC Magic). Even so, it seems that the company is determined to launch other mobile phones running under Google's Android operating system, and it has reaffirmed its commitment to doing so at the aforementioned launch event.

“We don't currently have any plans to bring the HTC Hero to market,” T-Mobile CTO Cole Brodman said at the myTouch 3G's launch event on Wednesday. At the same time, he also added the following: “We'll have more Android products out this year, but make no mistake, [the MyTouch] is our first and our real big bet for 2009.” The handset, which comes to the carrier's offering with a price tag of $199.99 on a 2-year contract, is expected to perform very well on a market that already has other impressive high-end phones available, such as Palm's Pre or Apple's iPhone 3GS.

Even so, the HTC Hero, the third mobile phone that the Taiwanese company has released on the market running under the Android OS, might still come to the mobile phone users in the US. Previous rumors already pointed towards Sprint and AT&T as the possible carriers that would have the phone in the country, though no details have been unveiled officially until now. Due to the fact that the device features a wide range of improvements over its predecessors, while also sporting a brand new UI, it could prove a real success in the US.

One of the interesting tidbits of info that we learned about the handset is that, although HTC announced it only in two color versions, a third one might soon appear on the UK market, namely pink. Due to the fact that it has been spotted at The Carphone Warehouse, the phone is expected to become available in the UK very soon, most probably this month. Unfortunately, there are no details on the price tag it will sport yet, as it might be sold unlocked, and there are great chances that it will cost around €500.
