Beside the Nikon S9100 model we've already talked about earlier, Nikon added three extra S-Series models to the Coolpix family, namely the S3100, S4100 and S6100, each bringing some interesting new feature and completing the comprehensive lineup the company has in store for its customers.

The first model we'll talk about, namely the S3100, is the direct successor of the S3000 model, and comes equipped with an ultra-slim (18.4mm) body housing a 5x wide-angle zoom NIKKOR lens with a 14 megapixel CCD image sensor, that, beside being able to deliver good-quality photos (especially when using its diverse range of built-in photo modes), are also capable of carrying out HD (720p) movie recording.

Next in line comes the S4100 compact digital camera, that packs a 14 megapixel sensor, as well as a 7.5 cm (3 in.) high resolution 460K dot touch control LCD screen, used for controlling the camera's various features (quite noteworthy here is the Touch Shutter, that will automatically set the correct focus and exposure for the touched item).

Moreover, the S4100 includes a 5x zoom NIKKOR lens, and supports 720p recording and plenty of built-in photo modes and effects.

Last, but certainly not least, comes the S6100, that features a wide-angle 7x zoom NIKKOR lens and a 16 megapixel image sensor, as well as a 7.5 cm (3 in.) high resolution 460k dot touch screen that enables intuitive operation, with fingertip control over shooting and playback, and HD movie recording at the touch of a button.

Plus, in order to ensure crisp and clear photos in almost all conditions, the camera also sports four different anti-blur functions that automatically minimize the effects of camera shake, subject movement or low light, and a Lens-shift Vibration Reduction system.

"These three new additions offer something for a range of tastes: the S3100 is slender but feature- packed, with HD video and an impressive zoom range; the S4100 goes one step further with its touch screen capabilities; and the S6100 offers an even greater zoom range to get you closer to the action, with more megapixels to make even better enlargements,”said Sander van Velzen, Product Manager for Consumer Products at Nikon Europe.

“Whichever model you choose, with the COOLPIX Style series you can be assured that you'll have a camera to be proud of," Mr. van Velzen added.

Pricing for this new S-series cameras is fairly mainstream, the S3100 starting to sell on the 17'th of March for around 130 pounds sterling (151 Euro), while the S4100 and S6100 will both officially arrive in stores on the 24'th of February, for 149 pounds sterling (174 Euro) and 199 pounds sterling (232 Euro), respectively.
