We have to hand it to them, Nintendo knows how to make themselves popular

These days we hear a lot of news saying that celebrities play video games, but generally they're young R & B singers. Not that Nicole Kidman isn't young. Yes, that's right, Nicole Kidman plays video games and she's going to endure a 60 day brain exercise program for 'More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain?' in a European campaign for Nintendo's Brain Training series.

The official report says that Nicole will be seen across print and television in Europe starting June 29. "I love the concept that Nintendo is reaching out to new audiences with their self improvement products like Brain Training," said Ms. Kidman. "Most importantly, I've quickly found that training my brain is a great way to keep my mind feeling young." See, what did I tell you?

The adverts are said to show Nicole in a home setting, relaxing and training her brain. She will also be speaking into the Nintendo DS to complete the exercises and memorising numbers, which quite frankly I think is kind of funny. In a good way.

Dawn Paine, Marketing Director of Nintendo UK comments "The Brain Training phenomenon is sweeping the globe, enjoyed by over 10 million people from grandparents to Oscar winning actors. We believe that Nicole Kidman's leading role in the campaign and the revelation of her DS Brain Age will surprise and excite people all over Europe."

More Brain Training from Dr Kawashima: How Old Is Your Brain? is the latest in a series of titles from Nintendo DS called Touch! Generations, launching in Europe on June 29. Titles included in Touch! Generations are continuously disrupting the video games world and changing the perceptions of millions worldwide who previously thought gaming was just for 16-24 year old males.

The game will be priced at around 19.99 pounds. That's it for now, but hey, what do you say we get Brad Pitt to join a video-game-based show or contest or whatever, to exactly determine the average girl gamer population...? What do you say we gather some comments? 'cause I'm sure Brad's my biggest fan.
