Nexus S by Samsung, the second Google phone on the market, is now available for purchase via Vodafone Australia for much less than initially.

The wireless carrier has just made the smartphone available for $0 upfront on its $29 cap, after lowering the cost of the device only a few days ago.

Initially launched for $0 upfront on the carrier's $85 monthly plan, the handset was made available for $0 upfront on the $65 monthly plan, complemented by a drop in monthly repayments from $15 to $10 on the $45 Infinite Plan.

In addition to making the device free on the $29 cap, the wireless carrier also lowered it to $0 upfront on their $45 Infinite Plan. The smartphone is available on Vodafone's online shop here.

As the guys over at Ausdroid note in a recent article, this is as low as the price tag for this device can go, and those who would like to make a purchase should head to the wireless carrier now for that.

“The Nexus S from Google features Gingerbread, the fastest version of Android yet. Combined with the power of the latest technology to be seen in a mobile yet, you'll experience incredible possibilities on the go,” the company notes on its website.

The smartphone was launched with a unique curved touchscreen display, a fast 1GHz application processor inside, a 5-megapixel photo snapper, WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity, in addition to 3G support, and NFC (Near Field Communication).

The mobile phone also sports 16GB of internal memory, built-in GPS receiver, with support for Google Maps 5.0+ with Navigation (beta) that features 3D views and check-in capabilities, as well as support for various services and applications available from the Android Market.

“Watch videos and view pictures in brilliant high definition,” the mobile phone carrier also notes on its website.

“Featuring a thin-profile glass panel, the Nexus S sports a sleek, distinctive definition that fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and along the side of your face. You'll also enjoy a brighter screen with high contrast and luminance that is up to 1.5x higher than conventional LCD screens.”
