Wireless services provider Vodafone Australia has just announced that it made the Samsung Galaxy Tab Android-based tablet PC available for purchase for $0 upfront on the $29 Plan, which 6GB of data to use each month.

At the same time, we learn that the wireless carrier decided to make the Nexus S by Samsung available for $0 upfront on its $65 cap, down from the $85 cap it was available on until now.

Users who would like to purchase the Nexus S from Vodafone Australia would be able to enjoy it on a wide range of plans at more affordable price tags that before.

For example, the carrier has lowered the phone's cost from $15 per month on the $45 Infinite Plan to only $10 per month.

Nexus S is one of the nicest devices that was launched on shelves last year, being the very first mobile phone to run under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.

The handset was also the first Android device to pack NFC (Near Field Communication) capabilities, a feature which started to emerge in more handsets lately.

The high-end mobile phone was launched at Vodafone Australia about a month ago, but it seems that the carrier is already seeing increased competition from new Android phones in the country.

We for the Samsung Galaxy Tab, it was launched last year as Samsung's first tablet PC to run under Google's Android operating system.

Powered by Android 2.2 Froyo, the device might seem outdated, though Vodafone has already announced via Twitter that it is currently testing Android 2.3 Gingerbread for it.

The device is available for purchase for $0 upfront on the said plan, with contracts of minimum 24 months (total min cost $696). The offer is time limited, and should end on 27 April 2011.

We should also note that the Galaxy Tab has seen its price tag slashed at other carriers in Australia too lately, with Telstra having it at only $299, contract free.

Vodafone Australia should launch the larger Samsung Galaxy Tab v10.1 on May 4th.
