The Korean phone maker Samsung has recently put on sale two new handsets, the T101G and T301G, at rather affordable prices, at TracFone Wireless. A third device, the Solid Extreme, comes as a rugged candybar handset that is expected to become available later this month with Vodafone and O2 in the UK.

The new Samsung T301G comes in a sliding form factor, while sporting an alphanumeric keypad. The handset has a VGA photo snapper, Bluetooth connectivity, messaging capabilities, including SMS and MMS and speakerphone, while enabling users to access and download ringtones. TracFone offers the device on a prepay basis for a price tag set at $49.99.

The second device spotted, Samsung T101G, comes in a candybar form factor and is able to provide users with access to news, weather or sports, as well as to downloadable ringtones. The handset features text messaging capabilities, voicemail, caller ID and call waiting, and a 100-entry phonebook. It also includes an 800mAh battery, which is able to deliver up to four hours of talk time, as well as up to 19 days of standby. The new Samsung T101G has been added to the TracFone's pre-paid offering for only $14.99.

Users in the UK that are looking for a rugged device to fulfill their needs would soon be able to enjoy the features of the upcoming Samsung Solid Extreme mobile phone, says mobileburn. The phone has been developed so as to be able to withstand dust and water submersion up to two meters, while also being resistant to cold and wet weather. It features an IP rating of 57.

The handset also includes a 1.8-inch TFT display able to offer a 128 x 160 pixel resolution and support for 256k colors, a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities, SMS and MMS messaging capabilities, Bluetooth 2.1 +EDR and microSD memory card slot, as well as other features such as FM radio, loud speakerphone, rubber grips, or noise cancellation.

The Solid Extreme provides connectivity with GSM 850/900/1800/1900 MHz bands, measures 113mm x 49mm x 17mm (4.4in x 1.9in x .66in) and weighs 102g (3.6oz). It sports a 1000mAh battery, but it hasn't been unveiled how much time it can last when used or in standby. Since the device should become available later this month, details on its price will probably be unveiled in the near future.
