Korean mobile phone maker Samsung has recently unveiled a brand new phone from its S-series, namely the Samsung S5200. The new handset follows the recent release of the company's S5600 and S5230 devices, which include touchscreen capabilities.

Even if it comes shortly after the aforementioned mobile phones, the new Samsung S5200 is slightly different from them, meaning that it comes in a sliding form factor while lacking the touchscreen capabilities of the two. In addition to that, the handset could only be included in the mid-end segment of the market.

GSM Helpdesk reports that Samsung unveiled the new mobile phone at an event in The Netherlands, where it also showcased its M2310 and M2510 handsets, which have been spotted on the Web before. When it comes to the exterior design of the Samsung S5200, we should admit that the device is a rather stylish one, bearing something from the Ultra Touch series, while its lines seem to make us think of the S8300 Ultra Touch.

The Samsung S5200 comes dressed in black with red accents, while sporting a 2.1-inch TFT display that is expected to be able to offer a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, a 3-megapixel photo snapper on its back, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity and USB 2.0, all packed inside a 106 x 45 x 15.4 millimeter mobile phone. In addition, the device should also come to the market with a series of multimedia functions, such as an MP3 player.

There are no details on when the Samsung S5200 will become available on the market, nor on the price tag it will feature upon release, but it is expected to come to users in Europe later during the ongoing year. Hopefully, more info on the handset will surface in the near future, so stay tuned to learn the news.
