New MicroPro ER•4PT Earphones From Etymotic Target Audio Professionals

Etymotic brought forth quite a few pairs of high-end earphones over the past couple of years, and now the company's back with yet another very interesting offering, namely the MicroPro Series ER•4PT earphones, designed for the professional sound engineer and audiophile. Based on Etymotic's ACCU•Technology platform, ER•4PT earphones are touted as being capable of delivering a very good frequency response accuracy, as well as what the company calls “the highest noise isolation of any earphones in any category”. MicroPro earphones have secure in-ear fit, but for an enhanced level of personal comfort, a CUSTOM•FIT upgrade option is available. Moreover, each driver is identified by serial number and each earphone is documented by an individual frequency response curve. Additionally, each pair of ER•4PT earphones is accompanied by a signed channel-matching compliance graph to confirm that the earphones produce the same high-frequency boost that is characteristic of sound heard at the eardrum in the typical ear. Despite of the high-end features we've mentioned up until now, Etymotic informs us that the ER•4PT earphones are designed for all home and professional audio equipment, portable players, laptops and netbooks. A 1/4” adapter provides flexibility for use in various venues, while an airline adapter supports many international airline sound systems that do not accept the standard 3.5 mm plug. “Etymotic’s ER•4PT earphones are ideal for long-distance travelers who want amazing sound quality from their MicroPro earphones,” said Mark Karnes, managing director of consumer products at Etymotic Research. “Each pair of ER•4PT earphones comes with an assortment of mobile adapters, including one for airline audio systems and an industry-first channel-matching compliance graph, signed by the Etymotic engineer who precision matched and custom tuned the left and right balanced-armature drivers,” concluded Mr. Karnes. ER•4PT MicroPro earphones are priced at $299 a pair and come with a wide selection of ACCU-Fit eartips, filter-changing kit, ¼”-stereo adapter, airline adapter, storage box and travel pouch.
