Capcom has serious plans to offer downloadable multiplayer map packs for the highly acclaimed Xbox 360 title Lost Planet: Extreme Condition. The first map pack will cost 400 Microsoft Points, with pricing on the following packs to be determined later. Lost Planet, which carries a PEGI 16 rating, is available in practically every game shop there is.

The first pack is planned to be released via Xbox Live Marketplace sometime around March 9 and contains two new multiplayer levels: Radar Field, a close quarters facility which is under construction and has a giant radar that provides an excellent vantage point, and Island 902, a sprawling Pacific-themed battlefield with several islands connected by bridges as well as vast underwater areas. Additionally, Battleground, a multiplayer map originally offered exclusively to those who purchased the Limited Edition of the game, will be made available for free. All will be available in the following months.

Lost Planet is truly a masterpiece in the game world, combining a long, intriguing single player campaign and intense multiplayer modes with support for up to 16 players on XBLA. Lost Planet also makes perfect use of Microsoft's machine with its sophisticated visuals, with a level of detail so high that the realism finds a new definition regarding games, along with advanced light sourcing used to ensure a realistic presentation that enhances every explosion, smoke and particle effect.

The pleasure of playing the game is ensured by battling with hostile creatures in blistering weather conditions, across vast snowfields and deserted cities, either on foot or in robotic Vital Suits, all this unfolded on the enormous maps that provide players with a huge freedom of choice.
