It appears that Taiwan-based mobile phone maker HTC is ramping up for the near release of a new smartphone that runs the new HTC Sense user experience from the company, and which would enjoy full support on the company's HTCSense.com portal, namely HTC Mecha.

The smartphone's name has just pupped up on the said HTCSense.com online destination, where it can be seen next to the already made official HTC Desire HD and HTC Desire Z.

There are not too many details available on the new smartphone or photos with it so that we can make an idea on what it is all about, but it might not be too long before HTC decides to make it official.

According to a recent article on Engadget, rumors on HTC Mecha's arrival have been floating around for quite some time now, but nothing was confirmed for the time being.

As for what the new device is all about, we should wait for more info to emerge before being able to say anything, especially since even the image used for Mecha on HTCSense.com seems to be pointing to another device (the older Hero).

The other two smartphones that can be seen listed on the website came to the market with Android 2.2 Froyo on board, and there are great chances that the new device would do the same.

HTC has the Sense UI loaded on Windows Mobile-based devices too, but the company hasn't released such a device for a long time, and there's no reason to assume that it would do so now.

Moreover, the newly released Windows Phone 7 handsets from the company come without HTC Sense, and also without HTCSense.com support.

Hopefully, the Taiwanese mobile phone maker would indeed make the new device official soon, so that we can learn more on what it is all about. Stay tuned for additional details on the matter.
