Innovative phone designs with little chance of becoming a reality

Mobile phones are extremely fun, especially when it comes to playing with their design and dreaming about placing incredibly evolved performances in slim and stylish cases. People at NEC have allowed their imagination to go wild and have managed to come up with some new interesting concept.

Some of NEC's ideas are highly futuristic, others are simply amusing, while each aims at a different target. Most of them combine objects that we use in our everyday life with handset performances in order to make them stand out.

One of the concepts takes the camera phone idea to the next level, making it capable of huge performances in a highly futuristic design. The handset follows the line of the Nokia N93i mobile phone, as it has a flip-and-twist clap meant to offer the functions of a video recording camera. Instead of the clamshell axle, it has the actual camera with a highly professional look, especially due to the tripod. The only drawback might be that it looks rather thicky.

There are also handsets made of leather and fabric, which seem to have been detached from the personal couch. The cissor-like phone comes with a huge part that looks as if designed for being hanged somewhere, although it might turn out to be quite uncomfortable to carry around. There is also a phone similar to a watch, with bright and vivid colors.

All the concepts that NEC has developed will probably never hit stores. If they do, their customers will most probably be those in need of an obvious display of their personality. Whichever that may be, there is a concept for it. Still, they will probably just be added up to the long list of concept phones which have never made it to stores, because of their restricted audience.
