Unusual and unlikely to come to reality

Mobile phones can be combined with just about any other device, with only a little imagination. Samsung has recently filed a patent for a handset which can also be used as a joystick.

The mobile phone producer company has found another use for the clamshell phone concept. The design of this type of handsets makes it possible to use in various ways, even as a joystick, if properly adapted.

Mobile games have taken a turn towards a considerable development lately, which brings great use to a new concept which might make them even more enjoyable. This type of games has failed in putting such a great challenge for the gamers, but graphics are developing at the same time with the new concepts. Keeping up with this rapid development may prove difficult, but revolutionary ideas have high chances of bringing this entire matter to another level.

One of the greatest problems that mobile phone games bring, aside from the small display screen, is that of few control keys, which greatly limit the amount of actions that the player can engage. A new concept in the way that the user interacts with its mobile phone is bound to bring an evolution in mobile gaming, in general.

The joystick handset includes a first hinge module and a permanent magnet embedded in the hinge module in order to make rotation moves possible. It looks and acts just like a regular gaming joystick which twists left and right and can also be tilted up and down.

As interesting as it may sound, there are little chances that Samsung will actually bring this joystick phone concept to reality. At this point, it is only at the state of filed patent, so it may take some time until the company decides to actually create it.
