Naughty Dog is one of the most celebrated developers that are working exclusively on the PlayStation home console line up from Sony and, given the quality of their games, a lot of fans have recently asked them when they will move out of the Uncharted universe and revisit earlier series, like Jak & Daxter.

It seems that the answer is that a shift in franchises will not happen any time soon.

Speaking to Game Informer, Evan Wells, who is one of the co-presidents of developer Naughty Dog, has said, “What I hear a lot recently is to make another Jak & Daxter game.”

He added, “My answer always is we’d love to do it, there’s a lot of love for the franchise and it has a special place in our hearts for sure, but we’re sort of heads down, working on one game at a time now and are focusing on Uncharted, but we’d love to go back to it at some point.”

Uncharted has been very successful for both Naughty Dog and for Sony and the second game in the series served to show off what the PlayStation 3 can deliver both in terms of graphics and in terms of gameplay.

Jak and Daxter: The Lost Frontier was launched during 2009 for the PlayStation Portable and the PS2, but it was developed by High Impact Games.

Naughty Dog last contributed to the series back in 2005, with Jak X: Combat Racing, which was only released on the PS2.

Characters from the Jak & Daxter series are also linked to the new Heroes on the Move series that will be using the PlayStation Move motion tracking peripheral for the PS3.

At the moment, Naughty Dog is evaluating the ongoing Uncharted 3 multiplayer beta, looking for ways to make the experience better when the game is launched.

Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception is set to launch on November 1 and will arrive exclusively on the PlayStation 3.
