Nine channels offering short videos from NBCU's top programming

Verizon Wireless announced a deal with NBC Universal to offer some of NBCU's television programming to its wireless customers. Available now to owners of V CAST-enabled handsets, the programming includes short on-demand videos from NBCU's entire suite of video channels, including NBC News, entertainment news from ""Access Hollywood," NBC Sports, NBC Comedy with "The Office," "30 Rock," "The Tonight Show with Jay Leno" and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien," BravoToGo, NBC Entertainment, Telemundo, mun2 and iVillage.

"NBCU continues to be a leader in extending the reach of our brands across mobile devices," said Jean-Briac Perrette, president of NBC Universal Digital Distribution, a division of NBC Universal that manages the company's content expansion across multiple digital platforms. "Through our expanded partnership with Verizon, consumers can watch an extensive offering of NBCU content where and when they want."

Some of NBC's Entertainment's video content featured on V CAST includes: video clips from "Heroes" and "Friday Night Lights," as well as a dedicated channel for comedy clips from "Late Night with Conan O'Brien." Subscribers will also have access to Bravo's Emmy-nominated culinary hit "Top Chef" and the upcoming Emmy-nominated "Project Runway," iVillage's love and health-focused video content, four daily updates from "Access Hollywood" and mun2's viral videos.

Verizon Wireless customers can access NBCU's programming on their V CAST-enabled phones by going to the News & Weather category for NBC News and entertainment news from "Access Hollywood", the Sports category for NBC Sports, the Comedy category for NBC Comedy and "Late Night with Conan O'Brien", the TV & Film category for BravoToGo and NBC Primetime, the Latino category for Telemundo and mun2 and the Lifestyle category for iVillage. Owners of V CAST-compatible handsets can access the service for $3.00 for 24-hour use, or by signing up for a $15.00 V CAST VPak monthly subscription. Upon subscribing, customers get access to unlimited basic video, including the nine channels from NBC Universal, with no airtime charges for watching V CAST content.
