Leading innovator in the navigation market NAVIGON AG announced today the release of a Mexico version of its highly popular on-board navigation software available via the iPhone App Store. According to the company, the MobileNavigator is meant to turn any iPhone into a complete navigation device, as long as the device is running under the least Apple OS 3.0 operating system.

[ADMARk=1]NAVIGON’s MobileNavigator, states the company, is one of the most featured applications available for the users of an Apple iPhone, and it is also placed among the five top software solutions in the US App store. The new Mexico version of the application comes around with great navigation capabilities, including Google Local Search, Enhanced Pedestrian Mode, Speed Assistant, Route Planning, and others more.

At the same time, the Mexico version of the app also includes sophisticated and elegant map views from NAVIGON, not to mention in-map points of interest (POIs). According to the company, its solution provides great advantages over the other existing similar applications, especially since all data is saved on the handset after the installation, which eliminates any additional costs involving a data plan.

“Having navigation capabilities on the iPhone is extremely helpful when traveling, no extra devices or maps are necessary,” said Gerhard Mayr, NAVIGON vice-president worldwide mobile phone business & new markets. “Our version for Mexico further expands our international portfolio and allows travelers premium navigation capabilities.” NAVIGON MobileNavigator is also available for Australia, Brazil, Europe, Gulf region, Russia, Turkey and South Africa.

The features list of the new application includes Speed Assistant, Google Local Search, Direct Access and Call POIs, Location Sharing, 2D and 3D map view, Turn-by-Turn Route List, Automatic Day & Night Mode, and more. The new NAVIGON solution for Mexico is available for purchase in the App Store for US$ 59.99, and delivers maps from NAVTEQ. However, until January 15, the application can be purchased for only US$ 49.99, the company noted. Additional details on the application and on its features are available on NAVIGON's website.
