The Motorola VE465 is an entry-level clamshell that is also semi-rugged, and which has been spotted a while ago in a series of leaked images, though it also made it to Motorola's official website, despite the fact that the company didn't unveil any specific details on the markets that will receive its mobile phone.

This time around, the Motorola VE465 can be seen listed on Alltel’s website, which might suggest that the Verizon-owned carrier might be preparing for a near launch of the device. On the other hand, the operator doesn't say anything specifically on this matter, nor has it unveiled any price tags of the handset for the time being.

On the other hand, it seems that Telus, the second largest Canadian CDMA carrier, will also add the device to its lineup in the not-so-distant future, at least this is what Mobile Syrup reports, citing a source from Motorola Canada, according to which the device should be added to Telus' offering under the name “Motorola VE465 Active Edition.”

The specification list of Motorola VE465 includes CDMA (800/1900/1700/2100) connectivity, along with Stereo Bluetooth, and USB 2.0, as well as a 1.9-inch TFT internal display that is able to provide a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and support for 65k colors, coupled with a 1.05-inch CSTN external display that can deliver a 96 x 80 pixel resolution.

The handset is also reported to include music and video players, MMS, SMS and Instant Messaging capabilities, as well as support for E-mail, a 1.3-megapixel photo snapper, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 4GB of additional storage space. The phone's battery should be able to offer up to 4.5 hours of talk time, as well as up to 12 days of standby time. The phone measures 1.8 x 3.9 x 0.7 inches and weighs 3.8 ounces.
