Among the new devices that Sprint has launched in the last few days we can count the Palm Treo Pro, the LG Rumor 2, as well as the Motorola Stature i9, a nice-looking iDEN handset that was expected to come to the market for quite some time now. The new clamshell that made it to Sprint's offering comes with a slim and eye-catching design and should see a lot of traction from the carrier's users.

At the same time, the Motorola Stature i9 also includes a 3.1-megapixel photo snapper that sports auto focus and video recording capabilities. The specification list of the device also shows it coming with GPS navigation capabilities, as well as with a music player with support for MP3, AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, WMA, RA to allow users to enjoy their favorite songs at all times.

The new Motorola Stature i9 is reported to feature support for Nextel Direct Connect, which should offer fast one-to-one push-to-talk communication. The mobile phone comes with a 2.2-inch TFT display able to provide a 240 x 320 pixel resolution, as well as support for 262K colors. In addition, it also sports a secondary 2-inch display, which is also stated to boast a 240 x 320 pixel resolution.

The new handset includes a video player with support for MPEG4, 3GP, RealVideo, WMV, H.263, H.264, Openwave 7.2 Browser, Bluetooth 2.0 connectivity, microUSB slot, and microSD/microSDHC memory card slot for additional storage space.

The Motorola Stature i9 measures 4.10 x 2.13 x 0.60 in (104 x 54 x 15 mm), and weighs 4.69 oz (133 g), and includes a 930 mAh Li-Ion battery that can offer up to 2.91 hours of talk time, as well as 79 hours of standby time. The device is available online for $199.99 with a two-year agreement after $150 instant savings and a $50 mail-in rebate.
