It looks like the rumors have been confirmed and the Motorola Titanium will hit shelves at Sprint on July 24 for $149.99 with a new line or eligible upgrade and two-year service agreement, after $100 mail-in rebate.

Unveiled back in May, along with Motorola XPRT rugged smartphone, Motorola Titanium is the first Android smartphone to feature Nextel Direct Connect for Push to Talk.

Furthermore, Motorola Titanium is one of the few Android smartphones especially built to meet Military Specification 810G for dust, shock, vibration, low pressure, solar radiation, as well as high and low temperatures.

It appears that the Titanium is the successor of the popular Motorola i1, which was launched by Sprint last year.

With a sleek and appealing, yet durable design, Motorola Titanium comes with a full portrait QWERTY keyboard and support for Nextel Direct Connect Services, including Direct Connect, Group Connect, International Direct Connect, DirectSend, Group Messaging and NextMail.

Motorola Titanium comes with a 3.1-inch touchscreen display and a 5-megapixle camera with autofocus, LED flash, 4x zoom, as well as video recording capabilities.

Software-wise, the smartphone is delivered with Google's suite of services, including Google Search, Gmail, Google Talk, Google Maps with Navigation, Google Calendar and YouTube.

The phone is powered by Android 2.1 (Eclair), which offers users quick access to more than 200,000 apps, widgets and games via Android Market.

As a business-rich device, Motorola Titanium provides users with a complete corporate email solution through Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync, as well as personal via email (POP3 & IMAP), calendar and contacts.

Other highlights of the rugged Android smartphone include Wi-Fi b/g/n and Stereo Bluetooth connectivity, GPS with A-GPS support, and microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 2GB memory card included).

The Titanium is powered by a high-capacity 1820 mAh Lithium-ion battery that should provide a longer autonomy than other standard Android smartphones.
