Yesterday, mobile phone maker Motorola Mobility announced the release of a new high-end device that runs under Google's Android operating system, namely the Motorola RAZR, and it seems that UK users will be able to enjoy its capabilities starting with the next month.

The handset has been already confirmed for the UK market, when it will arrive on shelves at wireless carrier O2.

The handset was introduced for the international market during an event in Berlin, where Alain Mutricy of Motorola confirmed that it will land on shelves in November, with the Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread operating system on board.

“While having the latest technology is crucial, just as important is the way the phone looks and feels,” Mutricy stated when presenting the new device to the audience.

“Our mission was to not only create the true object of desire, with incredible finesse but deliver this without any compromise.

“So, how do we combine a leading design with cutting edge performance? We needed something that was thin but durable, be fast, have a high-resolution screen and it must have some cool, new innovative features.”

The new handset comes to the market with a fast 1.2GHz dual-core application processor, as well as with 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus screen that can deliver a qHD resolution. The mobile phone also packs 16GB of internal memory and a microSD memory card slot for expanding the available storage space, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, and front-facing camera for video calling.

In the UK, the new device will be released via O2, but online retailer Clove also announced plans to add the new device to its offering (priced at £454.8, or around $720 / 520 Euros).

One other thing that should be noted here is that the smartphone is expected to taste the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich OS as well, but that it will be upgraded only in early 2012.
