Canadian wireless carrier Rogers has just put the new Motorola RAZR smartphone on pre-order, and announced that it will make it available for purchase on its airwaves in the near future.

The new device comes to the market with Google's Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread on board and with support for the operator's LTE network.

Rogers will have the new device available for its customers with a price tag of $149 attached to it with the signing of a three-year contract agreement, but other deals will also be in place for them.

The handset features a large 4.3-inch touchscreen display capable of delivering a qHD (540 x 960 pixels) resolution, and packs a 1.2GHz dual-core application processor inside, which should provide users with increased performance capabilities.

The new device also features an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with support for HD video recording, as well as with a front-facing camera on the front, great for video calling.

“The new Android 2.3 powered MOTOROLA RAZR is the total package. Watch as heads turn to check out its ultra-thin form and stunning design, while the mind-blowing power of dual-core processing leaves you all aglow,” Rogers notes.

“At your beck and call, the RAZR can even stream music, pics and more from your home or work computer – anytime, anywhere.

“In the light of day or dim of night, hyper–vibrant colors keep everything looking beautiful on the Super AMOLED Advanced 4.3" display. The RAZR is even armed with Kevlar for strength, because a phone this arresting deserves protection.”

The new mobile phone comes with 16GB of internal memory, and also packs a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space. The new device also includes WiFi 802.11b/g/n and Bluetooth connectivity, as well as a built-in GPS receiver, and a battery that can deliver up to 9 hours of talk time, or up to 11 days of standby time.

Those Canadians interested in the purchase of a new Motorola RAZR will see the new device listed on the carrier's website here.
