Motorola DROID RAZR, the handset that made it to the headlines countless times during the past several weeks, is now official and headed for Verizon Wireless' network. The new mobile phone brings along support for the wireless carrier's 4G services, a thin body, and great performance capabilities to enable an enhanced experience for all users.

The new device, exclusive to Verizon Wireless, features KEVLAR fiber for strength and Corning Gorilla Glass for scratch resistance, while being powered by a fast 1.2GHz dual-core application processor.

DROID RAZR, says Verizon, can deliver up to 10 times faster speeds when compared to handsets connecting to the company's 3G smartphones.

“DROID RAZR by Motorola combines style, performance and the power of Verizon Wireless’ 4G LTE network into one innovative device,” said Marni Walden, vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Wireless.

“These are two iconic brands that separately symbolize the best technology available today. The combination will provide an unsurpassed wireless experience for customers.”

The rest of the hardware specifications of the new device are also impressive, including a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Advanced touchscreen display, along with an 8-megapixel photo snapper on the back, which can deliver 1080p HD video recording capabilities.

The new Android 2.3.5 GIngerbread mobile phone also comes with an HD camera on the front for video calling, as well as with 16 GB of on board memory, complemented by a 16 GB microSD memory card (expandable to 32GB).

Motorola DROID RAZR features both LTE and CDMA connectivity, along with WiFi capabilities, Bluetooth 4.0 low energy, built-in GPS receiver, and a powerful 1780 mAh battery to enable long usage time.

Other capabilities include 4G LTE Mobile Hotspot with support for up to eight Wi-Fi enabled devices, along with Quickoffice with support for creating and editing Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint documents.

The new Motorola DROID RAZR will arrive on shelves at Verizon as soon as early next month, featuring a price tag of $299.99 (around 219 Euros) with the signing of a two-year contract agreement. The handset will hit pre-order availability on October 27th.
