Unveiled back in February and showcased at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Motorola Pro was initially slated for a July release in Europe.

However, it appears that the Android-based smartphone was delayed, at least in the UK, and will reach the market next month.

Although the new release time frame has yet to be confirmed by the manufacturer, it appears that several UK retailer expect the Motorola Pro to be available in “mid-late” September.

Currently, the handset is available for pre-order from Clove for no less than £420, which makes it rather an expansive Android device.

However, those who want to purchase the device should be aware that the official price has yet to be confirmed.

Motorola Pro is the European version of the DROID Pro, which is now available for purchase in United States via Verizon Wireless.

The smartphone is powered by Google's Android 2.2 (Froyo) mobile platform and is aimed at those customers who are looking for a business phone.

The phone's form factor strongly resembles RIM's BlackBerry smartphones, as the candybar comes with a generous physical QWERTY keyboard, which makes it easier to sends texts or emails.

In addition the phone is equipped with a 1GHZ TI OMAP3620-1000 processor, complemented by a PowerVR SGX530 GPU (graphics processing unit).

It comes with a 3.1-inch capacitive touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution, along with 8GB of internal memory.

Furthermore, a 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and dual-LED flash has also been included, as well as a microSD card slot for memory expansion (up to 32GB, 8GB memory card included).

According to the manufacturer, the Motorola Pro is delivered with the ability to remote wipe the device and SD card.

Other highlight of the Motorola Pro include: DLNA capability, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity and 3.5mm audio port for earphones.
