14 DAY TRIAL // Motorola Mobility has just announced the launch of Motorola PRO Android-based smartphone in France. The handset will be available “this summer” from €299, without contract, via major carrier SFR.
Optimized for business use, Motorola PRO is packed with productivity tools, such as pre-loaded Quickoffice Mobile Suite for accessing and editing Microsoft Office documents, as well as access to corporate email and calendar synching.
The phone comes with a full portrait AZERTY keyboard that makes it easier to type on the go, and a 3.1 crisp touchscreen display with 16 million colors support and 320 x 480 pixels resolution.
The Android smartphone is global-ready, thus enabling wireless service in more than 200 countries, as users travel around the world.
“Motorola PRO is an advanced business-ready solution that provides users with the full Android smartphone experience,” said Andrew Morley, vice president of marketing, international markets, Motorola Mobility.
The phone is equipped with a single core TI OMAP3620-1000 ARM Cortex-A8 processor, clocked at 1 GHz, and complemented by a PowerVR SGX530 GPU (graphics processing unit).
Powered by Google's Android 2.2 (Froyo) platform, Motorola PRO offers a wide range of customization options, as well as built-in security features, including AuthenTec IPSec multi-headed VPN integration, remote wipe of device and SD card, and complex password support.
“Motorola PRO consolidates users’ work and personal needs. This is just another reason Motorola PRO is setting a new standard for enterprise, allowing users to enjoy all the benefits of a smartphone with full push delivery of corporate email and corporate level security,” added Morley.
When it comes to business features, Motorola PRO is an all-rounder and offers users support for both Exchange email and Gmail for business, as well as corporate directory look-up, unified calendar for Enterprise and sync with Google Calendar.
Motorola also offers customers the option to purchase desktop dock (sold separately), which provides a convenient charging station on office desktop and allows access to additional handset features while docked.
