Mobile phone maker Motorola and wireless carrier U.S. Cellular have just announced the launch of a new device on the United States market, the Motorola GRASP, which comes with a QWERTY keyboard and can offer user the possibility to easily stay in touch with their friends and family.

The Motorola GRASP is already available for purchase from U.S. Cellular retail stores, the wireless carrier announced.

The new device comes with QWERTY bar design and provides great connectivity options, while sporting threaded messaging, as well as advanced contact search and other messaging features more.

“With Motorola GRASP, we’ve incorporated features that make it simple to connect with the people that matter most, all at an affordable price,” said Dan Papalia, vice president, Motorola Mobility, Inc.

“We know that our customers are on-the-go and deserve a phone that fits their busy lifestyles,” said David Macedon, device manager for U.S. Cellular. “The Motorola GRASP makes staying connected to family and friends easy and fun.”

The specifications list of the new handset includes a 2.2-inch display that boasts a 220 x 176 pixel resolution, and support for CDMA 800/1900, AWS 1700/2100, CDMA 1x, EVDO connectivity options.

Moreover, the Motorola GRASP sports Bluetooth 2.1 connectivity, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, and USB 2.0, as well as a 1.3 Megapixel photo snapper with fixed focus and digital zoom.

Other specifications of the new device include sGPS, a 950 mAH Li-Ion battery that can offer up to 5.3 hours of talk time or up to 17.9 days of standby time, and up to 8GB of user available memory (via memory cards). The handset comes with multimedia features too, including support for AAC, AAC+, AAC+ Enhanced, MIDI, MP3, WMA v10 file formats.

Measuring 2.4 x 3.7 x 0.51 inches (61 mm x 94 mm x 13 mm), the mobile phone measures weighs in at 3.7 ounces (105 grams).
