The affordable rugged DEFY MINI Android phone has just been officially confirmed in Turkey. According to Motorola, the handset will be available for purchase by the end of this month for a suggested retail price of 499 TRY (285 USD or 215 EUR).

The DEFY MINI would be the second low- to mid-range Motorola Android phone that gets launched in Turkey, after the company previously announced the upcoming availability of the MOTOLUXE.

Aside from the fact that it goes pretty cheap for an Android phone, Motorola DEFY MINI is dust-proof, water-resistant and features scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla Glass coating for extra protection of the display.

The phone’s decent 3.2-inch capacitive touchscreen display supports 320 x 480 pixels resolution and 262k colors.

Another selling point of the entry-level handset is the long battery life. The DEFY MINI drains energy from a 1650 mAh Li-Ion battery, which is rated by the manufacturer for up to 500 hours of standby time or up to 10 hours of talk time.

Hardware-wise, Motorola DEFY MINI is far from being impressive as the device is equipped with low-performance 600 MHz single-core processor, 512 MB of ROM, 512 MB of RAM and microSD card slot for memory expansion.

On the back, the smartphone sports an average 3-megapixel photo snapper, which features autofocus, LED flash and video recorder. There’s also a secondary VGA front-facing camera for video chats.

Last but not least, the DEFY MINI is powered by Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system and provides access to thousands of apps and games via Google Play.

Motorola DEFY MINI is just the right mix of style, value, performance and toughness. It can stand up to whatever your busy life throws at you, keep you connected and organized, and capture and share your once-in-a-lifetime adventures – all with resilience and style,” said Małgorzata Matusiewicz, head of marketing, Central Europe, Mobile Devices, Motorola Mobility.
