BioWare has once again talked about the future of its Mass Effect series, this time with franchise Producer Casey Hudson saying that more experiences set in its universe will certainly arrive at some point in time.

Mass Effect 3’s release next month marks the end of the trilogy that focused on Commander Shepard, a human who needed to save the galaxy by uniting various races facing a huge threat.

As you can imagine, after several games and millions of copies sold, fans are a bit sad to see the trilogy end.

This won’t be the final installment in the franchise, however, as BioWare hinted several times that the series wouldn’t end with Shepard’s adventures.

Now, series Producer Casey Hudson has once again confirmed that, while he and his team don’t know where the series will go after the third game, there will be more Mass Effect in store for fans.

"We don't know exactly, but there will be more Mass Effect for Mass Effect fans, I'm sure," he told PSM3 magazine, via CVG.

Currently, however, Hudson and his team are still working hard on the third game and he’s certain that it will be the best in the series.

"We're probably too busy to feel sad it's over right now," he said about the end of Shepard’s adventures. "I don't think I'll be sad. We're not done yet, and I don't know what the final experience will be, but I'm pretty sure Mass Effect 3 is the best in the series. We had ambitious goals, but to make a whole series that spans recessions, BioWare's independence, different publishers... Well, we did it in the end."

Other Mass Effect 3 developers, like Director Michael Gamble, also mentioned details about the franchise’s future, hinting that other events from the backstory of the series might be fleshed out through an actual game.

Until we know anything certain about a possible Mass Effect 4, however, fans should hold onto their save game files, Gamble mentioned last week.
