Mio Technology announced yesterday that its Explora K75 GPS Phone had been awarded the Best Choice Award of Computex Taipei 2009. The handset received appreciation at Asia’s most influential global IT event due to the combination between its GPS sensitivity and the Mio Spirit Mobile navigation software, which deliver an intuitive user interface, along with clear map view and a fast searching of points-of-interest capability.

“The Explora K75 is the first mobile phone from Mio that is implemented with Mio Spirit navigation software. The perfect combination of professional navigation technology, communication features, and entertainment capabilities offers a premium experience and a smart choice for smart consumers,” stated Samuel Wang, president of Mio Technology.

The Explora K75 GPS Phone is a Windows Mobile 6.1-powered handset that includes the latest technologies in GPS and navigation software, while offering users both turn-by-turn directions and a rich database of points of interest. The device includes GSM quad-band, 3.5G data connection, WIFI and Bluetooth capabilities, as well as a 3.5-inch touchscreen display, a 3.0-megapixel photo snapper, multimedia player and Office Mobile, being able to offer users what they need in terms of productivity and mobility in a slim form factor.

“The Mio Explora K75 GPS phone is a leap forward in smartphone engineering,” said Justine Liu, Global Marcom Director of Mio Technology. “Mio has developed several award-winning GPS phones over the past few years, including Mio Leap K1 and Explora G50, and the winning of Best Choice Award of Computex Taipei highlights our endeavours to integrate cutting-edge navigation solution into popular consumer products, providing more smart choices for consumers.”

The Best Choice Award of Computex Taipei that was granted to Mio's Explora K75 GPS Phone comes as a benchmark for the greatest ICT products in Taiwan. This year's competition included a number of 400 products coming from 170 companies that registered for the contest. Those who would like to learn more on the handset can find it showcased on Mio Computex website from June 1st to 17th.
