Acer announced back in February that it planned to move quickly into the mobile phone market, and already came out with a series of handsets, with a few more to hit the shelves during the ongoing year. Among these, there are three handsets that were unveiled at the MWC show in Barcelona, and which were present on the floor of Computex as well, where the Acer F1 smartphone, which features the Snapdragon platform and a 1GHz processor, got caught on video.

The smartphone, which will come to the market running under the Windows Mobile 6.5 operating system, is expected to become available sometime in September this year. The phone, as many of you might already know, includes 256 MB of RAM, besides the processor that is featured by the Toshiba TG01, along with a 3.8-inch WVGA display and a 5-megapixel photo snapper with auto focus.

The specification list of the Acer F1 also shows 3G with HSDPA, as well as a built-in GPS, not to mention an FM radio receiver, and a 3.5mm standard audio jack. Although no Wi-Fi is mentioned, the connectivity feature might come in the package as well. The powerful processor allows the Windows Mobile platform to run greatly on the handset, while also delivering fast switching between applications, not to mention that the animations and transitions are as smooth as they can be.

The videos bellow show how nicely the Acer F1 can perform, so take a look at them to make an idea. In the meantime, we should also mention that the company came to the Computex show with other two mobile phones powered by Windows Mobile 6.5 platform, the L1 and C1. While the L1 is a mid-range device sporting a 2.8-inch touchscreen display and a 5-way navigation key, the Acer C1 is a rather affordable device that includes a 528 MHz CPU, a 2.8" touchscreen display and a 2-megapixel camera.

Although it was stated that the Acer F1, Acer L1 and Acer C1 were expected to come to the market sometime in September this year, there are some voices that place their launch later in the fourth quarter of 2009. No details on the price tags of the handsets have been unveiled so far.
