Konami and Kojima Productions are announcing that they will be offering a playable demo of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show. The event is set to take place between September 24 and 27 at the Makuhari Messe.

During the last two days of the TGS, the public will have access to the show floor, which means that a whole lot of Japanese gamers might get some time with Peace Walker. Apparently, the title will be present at the usual demo booths, where long queues are expected to be formed, but Konami is also planning to distribute a demo via digital download, managing to get much more people to try it out and creating a bigger buzz about Peace Walker.

The new Metal Gear Solid title, which again explores the alternate history of the world depicted in the franchise, will be starring Big Boss as he defends the tiny nation of Costa Rica from an invasion. Expect a giant robot to make an appearance and stealth to be widely employed. The game is set to appear on the PlayStation Portable from Sony, and Hideo Kojima has revealed that cooperative multiplayer will be encouraged, with up to four Big Boss characters able to play together in order to get through the toughest challenges.

Initially, it was announced that Peace Walker would be the Metal Gear Solid project on which Kojima would be focusing his full attention, aiming to squeeze all the possible performance out of the PSP. In parallel, development work is being done on Metal Gear Solid: Rising, a game set to arrive on the home console, following the adventures of the now half-robot Raiden, as he was last seen in MGS4: Guns of the Patriots. Recently, Kojima talked about the friendly rivalry between the teams working on the two titles.
