We've seen plenty of iPad cases being rolled out over the past year or so, and now it's time to take a look at yet another product of this type, namely the X Grip, that promises users a very high level of versatility, without going overboard as far as the pricing is concerned. The X Grip was co-designed by Nick Curteman and Tom Baker, are two Portland Oregon-based photographers, who teamed up to create an innovative, new iPad case after being fairly disappointed by the offerings available on the market.

In fact, when creating the X Grip, they've envisioned a product that would be capable of delivering a higher level of functionality, not requiring all sorts of extra accessories to fit the requirements set by various real-life situations.

The case has been designed around a standard ¼” threaded mount which can be used in combination with hundreds of inexpensive and readily available attachments, thus making it extremely versatile.

The most important piece of the X Grip is represented by the 1/4" threaded brass insert, which is found in literally hundreds of inexpensive third party attachments.

For this reason, the iPad Clamp can be used with tripods, microphone stands, video grip equipment, wall mounts or anything else with the standard ¼” thread, making the X Grip a virtual jack of all trades, that will push the range of applications for Apple's iPad case to a whole new limit.

Unfortunately, the two creators of the X Grip case for the iPad have not mentioned any details regarding this thing's estimated price point, so it's quite likely that we'll have to wait until April in order to find out more details on this topic (however, those of you who're already convinced by the features the X Grip has to offer can already pre-order it and save 11 bucks in the process).
