Speck's been flooding us over the past couple of months with announcements related to various accessories designed specifically for the Apple iPad or iPhone 4, and now, the company's back with yet another addition to their lineup, namely the CandyShell Wrap protective case for the iPad, that brings an interesting improvement to the design of the original CandyShell model. So, what makes the new Wrap model different from the previous version is the fact that it comes equipped with a flip-close front cover that offers yet another level of shock-absorbent protection with a hard exterior and soft, rubberized lining.

However, this cover also plays another interesting part, beside that of protective the front side of the Apple tablet, namely that of folding back into a stand and enabling users to position their iPad as they see fit, in order to better match their intended purpose.

The case is manufactured from TPE & Polycarbonate (PC) providing, as mentioned before, a good level of protection for the iPad stored within, but also adding only a small amount of weight to that of the Apple tablet, namely just around 14.8 ounces.

Plus, as expected, its dimensions follow quite closely those of the tablet it's been designed to accompany, as the Wrap measures 0.87 x 8.39 x 9.8 inches.

Last, but certainly not least, we'll have to mention that the CandyShell Wrap protective case for the iPad sells for around 60 US dollars, which is a fairly average price point for this particular brand of products.

However, as a word of advice, one will have to seriously consider whether this thing is really worth it or not, especially since there's no mention of it working with the iPad 2, and we all know that just about everyone's currently eagerly waiting for the company from Cupertino to unleash its 2'nd generation multimedia tablet onto the world.
