Better than ever

Electronic Arts, still confident in its sports game lineup and its possibility to create revenue, has announced that it would launch Madden NFL 10, the latest in its American football simulation titles, on August 14. This year, the videogame is coming for the Xbox 360 from Microsoft, the PlayStation 3 and the PlayStation 2 from Sony, and the Nintendo Wii. There will also be a version of the game for the PlayStation Portable handheld.

Electronic Arts is hoping that players will be interested in what it is trying to do with NFL 10. It is saying that the development team is working on an all new animation technology that, along with improved graphic elements, will make American football action look better than ever. Take a look at the image attached to the article for a sneak peek at the way NFL is set to be rendered on your gaming device.

The developer is also promising a lot more intelligence on the part of the AI for each of the players that go on the field. They will be able to influence the results of each game phase through individual actions, like trying to get to a loose fumble, dragging an opposition defender towards the marker for first down or putting on a different touch on a familiar move in order to get a different result.

It seems that the Nintendo Wii version of the game will be quite different from the ones coming on the other home consoles. Electronic Arts is saying that the Wii game is “completely redesigned and built from the ground up,” although there is no mention of the All Play moniker that has been used so far on the Nintendo console. Curiously, NCAA Football 10 will not be coming to the Nintendo Wii.

Electronic Arts is planning to show off more details regarding Madden NFL 10 in the coming months, as the release date draws near.
