Sports games are always popular because a lot of people want to lead their team to victory over its rivals. That is why the EA Sports label is one of the most profitable ones for Electronic Arts. With yearly franchises like FIFA, Madden NFL or NHL, the division guarantees big sales at the end of each year.

We've already heard the president of EA Sports, Peter Moore, talk about the fact that Mixed Martial Arts might take over boxing as the fighting sport depicted in future titles, but now he has posted on his blog a picture of the upcoming Madden NFL 10 football simulator, which he says will really hit the sweet spot in terms of graphics and realism on this console generation.

After showing the screenshot from the game, he challenged readers to find out all the improvements depicted in it, changes that the development team in charge of the game would highlight in the following weeks. He also focused on convincing people that this would truly be a must-buy title for any Madden fan.

“We're hitting the real sweet spot of development for this generation of consoles as the team is really hitting its stride in squeezing every ounce of power and capability from the hardware. In fact, the Madden team is taking such dramatic strides this year that we're in the position to go deep on features and details earlier than we've ever done before. From everything I have seen in Madden NFL 10 so far this year, the authenticity of gameplay is showing striking improvement in physics, realism and responsiveness. Having recently sat through a full product review from our team in Orlando, it's abundantly clear that this could be the deepest, most graphically-rich Madden ever, and a stunning testament to the talented development team who have had a maniacal focus delivering a landmark title to Madden Nation in 2009.”

With more news scheduled to appear, culminating with the announcement of the athlete that will appear on the cover of the game, it seems that Madden NFL 10 will certainly be in the spotlight for quite some time.
