Launched in early January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, the Huawei IDEOS X5 is the latest smartphone that telecommunications network solutions provider Huawei launched added to its IDEOS family of products.

The company has brought the new smartphone to the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain, and Softpedia's editors had the chance to snap a few photos with it, for your viewing pleasure.

The smartphone is running under Google's Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, and sports advanced email, document, and calendar management tools, so as to offer a great experience to all of its users.

The IDEOS X5 is, undoubtedly, a ultra-sleek handset capable of providing any professional with the convenience and productivity features required in today's busy environment, the mobile phone maker states.

“From hardware, software to product design, each detail of the Huawei IDEOS X5 is specifically chosen to bring consumers a smart mobile experience that is easy to enjoy,” Huawei notes.

The hardware specs list of this smartphone would certainly back this assertion, as well as would its features and capabilities.

Huawei IDEOS X5 was built with a 3.8-inch (800 x 480 pixels) TFT capacitive touchscreen display, with multitouch capabilities and with portrait and landscape functionality (Auto rotate – G-sensor).

The mobile phone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper on the back, with auto focus, flash and 720p video recording capabilities, as well as SRS professional audio effect, and multimedia playback features.

High-speed connectivity is available via HSPA+ 14Mbps (HSUPA 5.76Mbps), WiFi 802.11n, Bluetooth 2.1, and Micro USB (High Speed USB). The phone also includes 3.5mm audio jack, and A-GPS/Compass.

Moreover, it offers 4GB of available memory, expandable courtesy of the included microSD memory card slot, and has a 1500mAh Lithium Polymer battery inside.

The new device sports Google Mobile services like Google Mail, Google Talk, YouTube, along with support for Google Maps with Street View, E-book reader: Aldiko, Roadsync (Office & PDF reader and Microsoft Exchange Email solution), and integrated phonebook with Facebook.

We should also mention that the smartphone comes with great web browsing capabilities, and with support for applications, available for download via the Android Market.
