EA Sports is on a roll. After announcing new content related to Madden NFL 10, arguably its biggest franchise in the United States, in the form of the AFL Legacy Pack, the Electronic Arts division has announced that FIFA 10, its biggest European franchise, will be getting an expanded Live Season feature when it launches. FIFA 10 is set to be released on October 2 in Europe and will only be arriving in North America on October 20.

EA Sports is saying that Live Season is no longer just a feature but a full-fledged game mode. Those who are subscribing to it will be getting weekly updates related to the form of the players engaged in league action, the transfer and injuries, the players who are suspended or out of form.

All the elements of real life are translated into the videogame and the player can experience the matches of their favorite team as closely to realism as possible. The My Live Season game mode is available for: Barclay’s Premier League, La Liga BBVA, Ligue 1, Bundesliga, Serie A and the Mexican Primera Division.

David Rutter, who is a producer on FIFA 10, stated that “Every Wednesday is Live Season day where dynamic real-world data and analytics will be updated in FIFA 10 to match the weekly rhythm of real-world football and subscribers will have the chance to rewrite their clubs’ history.”

Only the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360 version of FIFA 10 will be getting access to the newly expanded feature. Those who pan to get the live stats for one league will need to pay up 400 Microsoft Points or the equivalent in real world money while those who plan to get the information for all the leagues included will need to pay double that price for one season.
