Amy Winehouse cover profoundly displeases Amy’s father, most loyal fans

As promised, “The Great Gatsby” includes a cover of one of Amy Winehouse’s biggest hits, “Back to Black,” by none other than Beyonce and Outkast singer Andre 3000. You can listen to their version below.

Above is Amy’s original.

While I was positive, from what I’d heard in the trailer for the film, that the duet would really be something else, I have to confess I am utterly disappointed in it, just like many of Amy’s fans and even her father, Mitch Winehouse.

“I just heard the Andre part of Back to Black. Terrible. He should have let Beyonce do it all,” he says on Twitter.

Indeed, perhaps the cover would have sounded better only with Beyonce. What I do know is that I feel I could have done without it as it is now and, when I say this, I’m not even comparing it to the original.

To me, the song really is that bad.

What do you think? Check it out and let me know.
