A new trailer for Baz Luhrmann’s “The Great Gatsby” has just been released and not only does it include fresh footage, but also samples from the OST, for which Luhrmann himself reached out to Jay-Z to put together.

Check it out in full and in HD above: it’s truly a feast for the eyes if I ever saw one.

First off, the music: the trailer includes samples from Beyonce and Andre 3000’s cover of Amy Winehouse’s “Back to Black” (and, as promised, it does sound totally different from the original), as well as from a song by Lana del Rey and one by Florence + The Machine.

Secondly, the new footage: unlike previous promos, teasers and trailers, this one offers a more detailed look at Gatsby and his motivation for pursuing Daisy.

“The Great Gatsby” arrives in theaters this May and I can honestly say I have not been this excited about a movie since “The Dark Knight Rises” (off the top of my head).

Drop me a line in the comments if you feel the same – and even if you don’t.
