Cover will be “very different,” actually a duet with Andre 3000

Jay-Z was handpicked by director Baz Luhrmann to score his latest film, the big screen adaptation of F. Scott Fitzgerald’s novel “The Great Gatsby,” and it seems that he’s bringing in some A-list help.

Beyonce and Andre 3000 (aka Andre Benjamin, of Outkast) will cover one of the biggest hits from the late British songstress Amy Winehouse, “Back to Black.”

Check it out above if you’re not familiar with it.

“Interscope Records, who will be producing the highly-touted soundtrack, said that the Beyonce-Andre 3000 cover will be a ‘very different take on Back to Black,” AceShowbiz writes.

Andre 3000 and Beyonce have worked together before, on her 2011 song “Party,” though I have a feeling this collaboration will be truly something else.

As a fan of Amy’s, I can honestly say I can’t wait to hear Beyonce’s cover.

“The Great Gatsby,” starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan, Tobey Maguire and Joel Edgerton, will be out in May.
