Lindsay Lohan is so determined to make a career comeback she’s set her eyes on the upcoming “Superman” reboot. At this moment, she’s in talks for a part – and she stands good chances of getting it if she doesn’t go to jail.

At least two different e-zines report that Lohan will be in “Superman,” saying that, while she won’t be Lois Lane, her role will still be pretty chunky: E! Online and TMZ.

Both media outlets claim to have it from sources very close to the legally troubled star that she pulled all the strings and used whatever influence in Hollywood she still had to get her name officially in the race for a part in the film.

Given that, just the other day, word got out that the female lead in the film might not be Lois Lane after all, but Ursa, perhaps it’s not that much of a stretch to assume Lindsay is going for it.

“It’s true, she’s in the talking stage now. Lindsay wants a part in this movie bad,” one source close to Lindsay reveals for E! Online.

“Ever since news broke that Henry Cavill was cast, she did everything in her power to track down his number and try and set up a meeting with him and the studio,” the spy explains.

Lindsay knows she needs a huge movie and a hit at the box office to make her comeback and get back in the good graces of critics and the public – and she obviously believes “Superman” is it.

“She’s serious about making a comeback. No booze, no drugs. She wants people to remember why she was famous in the first place, and that’s because she’s talented,” the spy says.

“We’re told Lindsay is up for a role in the flick – and while it isn’t Lois Lane, we hear it would be a ‘major character’,” TMZ also confirms, adding that Lohan is in negotiations and should be meeting with studio bosses soon.

That is, of course, if she’s not sent to prison. As we also noted earlier today, Lohan has been charged with grand theft and will be in court today to see whether she’ll stand trial for allegedly stealing a $2,500 gold necklace.
