14 DAY TRIAL // Glowing expectant mommy Lily Allen is keeping busy these days, even though she’s retired from music, launching a fashion line and talking to the media about how wonderfully well her pregnancy is going.
Allen, who confirmed this August she was expecting a baby (her first) with boyfriend Sam Cooper, tells Music Rooms she misses almost nothing from her pre-pregnancy life.
Quite the hellraiser who once infamously said she had to go online to find out what she’d done a night before, Lily says she’s now staying off the booze and the smokes – and couldn’t be happier about it.
Seeing her friends after a night out drinking when she was sober also played an important part in her realization that she’s much better off as she is now, she reveals.
“I’m enjoying procreating, I’m not missing smoking, drinking and going out. It’s made me realize a lot about some people I used to hang out with,” the singer says for the aforementioned publication.
“I still have to be around some of them when they’re drunk and I’m like, ‘Is that what we’re like?’ Being sober has opened my eyes a lot,” Allen further explains.
Moreover, with the pregnancy, she gets to embrace the body that was once such a cause of torment for her because of criticism in the media that only came to aggravate personal insecurities.
Unlike other female stars, Lily doesn’t plan to shed the pregnancy weight in a few short weeks because she plans to do this just like any other woman would.
In this sense, the 5-year hiatus from showbiz she’s been talking about before getting pregnant will come very in handy, since it will allow her enough time to get back in shape, she says.
Until she gets to the moment when she has to think about shedding the extra weight, Lily is embracing each and every pound that pregnancy is adding to her frame.
“My [breasts] are incredible. I’m a 34D now. I’ve never had that size before. I’m actually really excited now I actually look pregnant. It’s making it all the more real,” the singer says.
“My body’s changing all the time and I’ve got to just embrace it. I’m growing all over. I’ve been wearing [gorgeous] maternity tights. I’m so glamorous it’s unreal!” Allen gushes.
