14 DAY TRIAL // Chart-topping singer Lily Allen has been dropping hints about this for many months – and now she finally gets to make the announcement she’s been dying to make: she and her boyfriend are expecting their first child. after going to the hospital for a checkup and confirmation that all is well with the pregnancy, Allen tells The Sun the happy news.
As we also reported on several past occasions, Lilly has long made up her mind about putting her music on hold in order to start a family, especially since she came so close to achieving her dream back in 2007, when she got pregnant with her then-boyfriend. Sadly, shortly after making the announcement, she suffered a miscarriage and was devastated by it. In recent months, the singer has been telling the media how she wanted to settle down and retire from the spotlight for about 5 years or so to have a baby and a shot at a normal life.
“Thrilled Lily, 25, and Sam, 32, broke the news to friends and family at the weekend after having a three-month hospital scan. The singer told The Sun: ‘It goes without saying we are both absolutely delighted.’ Lily has been dating Sam, who runs a posh decorating firm, since July 2009, but the couple had known each other as friends for years,” The Sun writes. She now describes Sam as “the love of her life,” the man she’d been expecting to come into her life for ever.
“Sam treats me differently. He’s told me he’ll look after me forever. That’s what I’ve always wanted – someone to look after me. We’ve never had one argument and there’s absolutely nothing about him that annoys me. He’s not impressed by what I do. I’ve been with guys and seen them looking in the mirror before they walk out of the door with me. That makes me feel sick because I know it’s not just me they’re interested in,” the singer was saying about her boyfriend a short while ago.
As of this moment, no further details about Lily’s pregnancy are yet available. However, since it’s Lily Allen we’re talking about here and given how open she’s always been about everyone and everything in her life, it’s to be expected for her to want to share the joy with her fans.
