14 DAY TRIAL // Dating one of the most popular pop stars in the world can't be an easy thing, especially considering the amount of exposure and rumors you have to deal with on a daily basis. Just ask Liam Hemsworth, Miley Cyrus' boyfriend, he knows best.
Liam, who starred with Miley in the critically panned “The Last Song,” and also started dating her while still working on it, has been plucked from anonymity and thrown right on the first pages of the tabloids.
His life has changed in ways he couldn't even imagine before, and he knows he doesn't get all this attention for his achievements as an actor – at least not yet.
Still, speaking with the latest issue of Details magazine, Liam doesn't regret anything.
“What happened happened, and we’ve been together two and a half years,” he says of meeting and falling in love with Miley on the set of the film.
“She makes me really happy. When you start, you want to be professional, but when you’re filming those scenes with someone and pretending to love them, you’re not human if you don’t feel something,” he says of how they realized they had fallen in love while playing onscreen lovers.
However, at times, the attention he or she or they as a couple receive is very annoying. Liam recalls Miley's 19th birthday party, when tabloids had a field day after a video of her saying she “smokes way too much [expletive]-ing weed” emerged online.
He's angry that this got out and especially at the way it was interpreted in the press.
“She’s in a room full of her best friends. And you have one person who comes in there and videos it. The poor girl can’t have one night where she can feel safe in her own world. It’s ridiculous,” he says.
He doesn't say anything about that other video that emerged online, in which Miley was seen smoking a bong of what she later said was salvia.
