14 DAY TRIAL // Miley Cyrus celebrated turning 18 years old in style: by sharing a bong and lots of giggles with a bunch of friends. Video of the Disney pop star getting high has leaked online, TMZ reports – and you can also see it embedded at the end of the article.
Fans know that Miley has seen her fair share of controversy, especially in recent months, when she became visibly set on proving the world that she was growing up and was no longer the same Disney idol as before.
However, even before that, leaked personal photos of herself put her on the spot, with many rushing to say that she was heading down the same path as Lindsay Lohan and, to an extent, Britney Spears before her.
Safe to say, those who thought any of the above will think them again when they see the video, word in the blogosphere has it. Or maybe they won’t because, even if it looks like she’s smoking marijuana, Miley isn’t breaking any law.
“Miley Cyrus celebrated her 18th birthday by experimenting with a bong and catching a case of the giggles – but sources say she was not smoking marijuana,” TMZ notes.
“The video was shot during a party at Miley’s LA area home 5 days after her 18th birthday. According to a source connected with Miley, the smoke filling the bong is a natural herb called salvia which has psychedelic qualities. Possession of salvia is legal in California,” the e-zine further says.
In other words, it was only harmless fun – assuming the source is telling the truth and she really wasn’t smoking marijuana.
Even so, Miley might want to surround herself with better friends in the future – because it’s one of them that sold her out to the media.
“As for the video, the source tells us it was shot by one of Miley’s friends – and the theory is someone stole or copied the video from that friend’s camera,” TMZ says.
Neither Miley nor her rep has said anything about the video making the rounds right now.
