Coming to accompany both the new and the old Lenovo business products, particularly the ThinkPad laptop range, is the ThinkVision LT1421, a 14-inch mobile monitor for traveling professionals.

For Lenovo, the products that have a name starting with 'Think' are those that are aimed at business and enterprise applications.

When examining recent activities, this includes both the ThinkCentre M71z and the even newer ThinkPad Edge E425 and E525.

Sometimes, the work surface provided by the screens of a notebook is just not enough, especially for certain auditors or consultants.

To help address this issue on the go, the company made sure to offer a mobile monitor alongside the aforementioned two newest additions to the ThinkPad Edge collection.

Dubbed ThinkVision LT1421, it has a diagonal of 14 inches and is, according to its maker, “great for ad hoc meetings in places like hotel lobbies or cafes that lack access to a projector and even for extra screen space for work that requires multitasking on the go.”

Being a widescreen product, it has an aspect ratio of 16:9 but, unfortunately, the company was not as forthcoming in regards to its exact specifications as it was to the laptops themselves.

One of two shreds of data that did trickle over into view (not counting the reliance on its photo frame stand) is the presence of 16 brightness levels, meaning that visibility won't be too much of an issue when sunlight is involved.

The other is one that can be guessed from even a cursory look over the newcomer. Basically, the connection to a laptop is accomplished via the USB (Universal Serial Bus) interface standard.

Fortunately, prospective buyers won't have to wait overly long for the full spec sheet to be provided, since the availability is scheduled for this month (August, 2011). The price cited is $219.99.
