Motorola announced, a few moths ago, that 2008 will come with an amazing line-up of Motorola super phones, one of them packing a 8 Megapixel camera and optical zoom. While there is no certain information about the existence of the 8 Megapixel handset (apparently called Motorola Skarven), we now have the first leaked photo of Motorola Z12, also known as Motorola X Pixl.

Part of the MOTO ZINE family, together with Motorola Z8 and Motorola Z10, Motorola Z12 will bring a 5 Megapixel camera with Xenon Flash, created in collaboration with Kodak. From the leaked photo, it seems the camera doesn't pack optical zoom, although it would have been a great feature. But let's not rush on judging the handset, since there is no official info about its specifications.

The image showing the back of Motorola Z12 first appeared on a Chinese website, then spread on the Internet. It is most likely that the phone has a slider design, despite the fact that previous information announced the handset to come in a compact candybar form. Other previous reports said the Z12 will provide GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, and that's about all is known about the device. Anyway, when released, Motorola Z12 will try to stand beside super phones like Nokia N95 or Samsung G800.

Even though everyone believes that this (meaning the handset from the leaked photo) is Motorola Z12, we might be wrong and the picture could show another handset from Motorola's future line-up. Which means that Motorola Z12 can actually be the phone named "Skarven", so then it will come with 8 Megapixels and 3x optical zoom. It's confusing, I know, but that's how things go when there are only leaked images and no official details. I hope the US producer will soon make things clear and bring us some awesome details about its future phones.
