Inspired by the first Tomb Raider videogame, originally released in 1996, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: Anniversary is a totally new adventure for Lara, faithfully preserving the elements which made the original Tomb Raider such a regular classic, selling over 7 million copies worldwide. Using an enhanced 'Tomb Raider Legend' game engine, the graphics, technology and physics bring Lara's adventure and pursuit of a mystical artifact known only as the Scion right up to today's technology standards and will offer gamers a completely new gameplay experience.

Tomb Raider: Anniversary, also known as Tomb Raider: 10th Anniversary Edition, is the next release of the Tomb Raider series. It is now confirmed by Eidos that this will be a remake of the original Tomb Raider game. Although it will use Tomb Raider: Legend's engine, Eidos claims it will include all the original levels from Tomb Raider, new features, such as a bigger arsenal of weapons and improved interactivity with environments.

Much of the level design has been remixed, recreating the original's best puzzles and key events but rearranging levels and altering puzzle solutions. Two new moves can also be found: Lara can now climb up and slide down poles, and leap from one pole to another.

As far as the game's originality is concerned, it is 100% guaranteed as it wonderfully keeps the classic TR spirit even when deeper, more sophisticated action of newer versions seem to have taken their toll. Remember, it is going to be an improved version of the original and lots of features will look pretty familiar but that doesn't mean the game is an exact replica, far from it.

The action/adventure game published by Eidos Interactive and Developed by Crystal Dynamics will be available soon for the PS2 platform.
