Lara Croft's latest game, Angel Of Darkness, wasn't a big success and recently, the series's web site www.tombraider.com was replaced by an ad saying "New site coming soon".

The fact that even the name www.tombraiderlegends.com led to this site was the starting point of the speculations regarding the next name of the Tomb Raider's series.

Although Eidos officials deny that the name Tomb Raider Legends is the real one for the sequel, more and more people start to believe that this is the title which will bring Lara Croft into the public's attention.

Although, initially, the name www.tombraiderlegends.com led to this site, now it can only be accessed as www.tombraider.com.

But what is known for certain is that the next game, regardless of the name, won't be developed by Core Design who was in charge of all the games from the Tomb Raider series, but by an American company from San Diego, Crystal Dynamics.

The main reason of this change is connected to the disappointment produced by Angel of Darkness. Although, the sequel was announced for April, no details have been given and considering the period Eidos is passing through right now, it is unlikely that the game will be released in the near future.

Eidos's situation is very uncertain right now. After it was believed that Elevation Partener's offer will be accepted, SCi made a surprising statement about making an offer to Schroder Investment Management to buy its shares.

In this way, SCi controls 20% of Eidos's shares, even if it's not the owner of Eidos and announced that it maintains its offer to buy Eidos.
